Jewellery Photography in the West Midlands and Worcestershire
There are a lot more people selling products online these days and I have been photographing a lot more jewellery for folks over the last few months.
I get to see a wide array of products, from fashion jewellery to the crazy high end beautiful diamond jewellery that I'd be worried to leave the house in lol
Some online sites like images to be on a white or pale background - Etsy, Amazon and Ebay fall into this category to name a few, but sometimes it can be nice to add a lifestyle image or two in there with the white ones. My top tip for all of these sites is to use all of the slots they give you for images - so for jewellery, you can do several different points of view and angles, maybe even shoot a little video. Then if you have some empty photo slots shoot some on a hand if it's a ring you're selling - wrist of course for watches and bangles/bracelets etc etc, showing the product on a real person or good dummy/mannakin, can give the viewer a really good idea of how it may look when they wear it. If you don't have anybody that you can model the item on, then maybe choose a nice object that compliments the colour etc - or ask your photographer to do this for you - adding a model to your photo shoot can increase your costs of course.
No matter what type of jewellery you sell, you need to make sure people can see it as it truly is, over photoshopped and you'll get lots of returns, but looking awful and your wont make sales in the first place. Photos literally make or break your sales.
If you have a website you may have a "company colour" that you want your product photographing on to match the rest of your website, you may also want some banner style images photographing at the same time.
