I photograph weddings all across Worcestershire, The West Midlands, Hereford, Shropshire, Warwickshire and travel up and down the country too, so wherever you are getting married - travel is not a problem.

In 2022 I photographed weddings at a wide variety of venues including, Warwick Castle, Rowton Castle, Manor Hill House in Upton Warren, Stone Manor Hotel, Arley Arboretum, Highley Hall, The Crown and Sandys in Ombersley, Tanworth In Arden church,Red House Barns,The Diglis Hotel in Worcester, Brockencote Hall in Chaddesley Corbett, Grafton Manor in Bromsgrove to name a few.

There are plenty of things that you should be asking your photographer before you book though and so please make sure you meet your photographer before you book and sit down and ask all of the questions that you need to before you make a decision.

I think the most important thing is that you like your photographer - as you will already have seen their work on the website I think we can safely assume, you wouldn't be contacting them if you didn't like their wedding photography.... However, I know some people who - shall we say borrow people photos to impress clients and don't really have the experience they profess to have. So once you have arranged to meet your photographer, make sure that you see plenty of their other work - ask them how many weddings they have photographed, ask to see albums - online or actual books of weddings they have photographed - if they are unable to show you a vast selection then you need to question how many weddings they have actually photographed.

Once we have established that they have plenty of experience then you also need to ask your potential wedding photographer about insurance - do they have public liability insurance? If not what happens if the photographer leaves a bag on the floor and your Auntie trips over it and breaks her leg ??? Or they break something at the venue? The venue are quite within their rights to ask your photographer for a copy of their public liability insurance - so your wedding photographer ask if they have it.

Next - what kit do they bring along - do they have professional cameras - I say "cameras" as if one breaks - or if a lens breaks what's the plan? do they have a spare ? where is the spare kept? do they carry it around with them or is it just left in their car? What happens if you're walking down the aisle and the photographers camera or lens decides to break at that exact moment?

Trust me these things happen ;-) My spare is turned on in a bag at my side with lens on, card in and ready to go so I can pick it up and keep shooting and nobody will know that anything has happened.... yes it happened at a wedding a couple of years ago, nobody knows to this day.....

So you have established that you like the wedding photographer and you like their wedding photography work, you have checked that they have insurance and spare camera kit and so next you need to chat to them about what you get for your money - is it in writing? Make sure you know exactly what you will be receiving from your chosen photographer and roughly how long it will take for you to receive your images - and whatever else you may be getting from them after the wedding.

Some photographers offer wedding albums in the package, some offer the Wedding Photos on a USB - if you get all of the wedding photographs on USB then do you get everything - or is it limited to a specific number and you have to pay extra for the rest ?

These are all things that you need to check before you sign on the dotted line. That is another thing to check of course - is there something in writing to say that you are paying this person for their services - how much you will be paying them and what you will receive in return for said payment? Make sure there is a contract with their details on stating what you are getting for your money and when payments are due too.

There is a lot to think about when you are booking all of the things you need for your wedding day, so before you rush in, have a look around and make sure you find the things that suit you for your day, from flowers, cakes, cars and photographers to the people that run your chosen venue - have you sat and chatted to them - do they instill you with the faith that they can provide you with a stress free wedding day that will make you and your guests feel super special whilst they are looking after you ?

Organizing a wedding can be a very stressful time, so they key is to make sure that all of the people who you choose to be a part of your day, understand exactly what you want and will let you enjoy your day rather than adding any stress to your organizing of it :-)
