Once again a whole month has been gone and run away with me.... it's been a crazy year so far and every time I think it may quieten down a little..... it doesn't.
I'm not moaning, being busy with work is great, it means I'm not worrying about being quiet.....
Quiet moments are good, they enable me to catch up on blogging and other things I have missed, but they never last long.
So what happened during September?
Well I had three weddings to photograph - a couple were slightly damp, you never know what will happen with the weddings in the UK, no matter what month you are getting married in, there is no guarantee of good weather.
I have also had several wedding bookings for next year and 2021 and so, the first thing I want to say is, for the people that I have already had to turn away I'm sorry..... but I'm booking up super fast for 2020, so I find myself saying the same again as I did last year and in previous years, please please don't think you can ask the photographer you really want to shoot your wedding last after you've done everything else - if you have set your date - let me know straight away....I have no Saturdays left in June next year already....
What else happened in September ?
So some Swimming in the sea for the lovely Loui :-)I had a long weekend in Salcombe, with Hubby, Eli, Loui and some friends with their beagles and a lovely break it was. From there I carried on over to the Wolf and Dog Development centre in Cornwall to photograph the wolves. What an amazing experience it was.
Yes that is a fox at the end there - they have a rescue fox that lives there with them - he's gorgeous, and he's 10 years old.
Next up, I've been selling quite a lot of Gift Vouchers for Equestrian photo shoots and Working dog/pet dog photo shoots too.
Some were for Birthday gifts and a couple of people who are very organised have started their Christmas shopping and bought Christmas Gift Vouchers from me already. Gift vouchers can have a message of your choice on, they can be for any amount from £75+ and so include the photo shoot, plus prints, or a canvas, or all of the images on USB, or whatever you would like them t include really, the choice is yours.
Don't leave it until the last minute to order your vouchers - get them bought wrapped and done, Christmas vouchers are valid for the whole of 2020.
There was also the usual mix of commercial work this month, including finishing off following a farrier around, to produce an album for him with some fabulous shots, it was great. I have photographed some glamping safari tents at Ling farm opposite the Safari park.
Plus I got to do photographs for the fabulous artist Jeremy Houghton, whose work is really wonderful. He is such an amazing talent, if you don't know his work - here's the link - https://www.jeremyhoughton.co.uk/
Lastly, I started the month off at The Autunm fair at the NEC, probably one of the most stressful things I have done this year, the shows cost a lot to do and then there's getting all of the greeting cards, coasters, notebooks etc ready and printed for the show, I had to change suppliers a couple of times, for various reasons.... but I got there, and the stress was worth it, I have 12 new shops that I now sell my products through, plus the 12 I already had, and since the show I've had more get in touch to start selling my products too. So I'm now getting the new ranges ready for the NEC Trade Spring Fair at the start of February 2020.
The link to my online shop for buying my cards, notebooks, coasters, mugs etc is below. There will be more product appearing on there over the next few days as I have more cards coming in tomorrow and framed prints arriving too. The wolf products will start appearing in around a week - watch this space.
So on the whole an amazing month - let's hope October is just as fabulous - if not more so.
This month I've had many people tell me how fabulous they think my job is - to be honest - they're not wrong :-)
I love my job.
I also need to congratulate Charli, a young lady who came on my wedding training session at Grafton Manor earlier this year, she has booked her first paid wedding, she is very talented and just needed some pointers and encouragement - I share this with you to help those of you who want to make a change in your life - if you take the baby steps towards the goal, you will get there, if you want to make changes and change your career, way of living etc. it can be done. She did the training day in March and by September she has started booking in her own weddings... well done to her, IT'S BRILLIANT.
Look out for October news coming soon :-)
